Girls Golf

Hunting For Birdies

Girl’s golf coach, Homer Johnston has his hands full this year with a vast group of “fore.” The team is made up of three freshman, Krissy Hawk, Chelcie Moore, Amie Clapp, and one junior, Shayleigh Ewers.

The girls traveled to Deer Valley Golf Course in Kansas to compete in a match on Monday, April 6th. Freshman, Chelcie Moore finished the match in seventh place as an individual. Moore says, “I am very proud of myself considering this is my first year participating in golf. At the beginning I didn’t know the terms of the game, or even how to play, and now I have received a medal for my placing.”

The other girls did not place in Monday’s match, but Coach Johnston says, “The season is just beginning and hopefully we’ll get some wins this year.” You can find a golf schedule for both boys and girls at www.npsok.org.
