The Nowata High School cheerleaders will be taking a five day trip to San Diego, California in late December to perform at this year’s Holiday Bowl. The game will be played by the University of Southern California Trojans and the Wisconsin Badgers. The cheerleaders will be leaving at six in the morning on December 26th. After arriving, the cheerleaders will go to Sea World for a short day of fun before having to start practices the next three days. The cheerleaders, as well as cheerleaders from different schools around the United States have been learning a dance that will be performed during halftime and in the Big Balloon Parade just before the football game. The dance is approximately eight minutes long. The music includes Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, The Beatles and Jankowski. After the performance, the team will hit the road the morning of December 31st. They will spend New Year’s together, on the road. The cheerleaders plan to arrive home late January.
