Stirring up treble in the competition…

This school year has been good to the Nowata Marching Band since early September, where they competed at the Stallion Battalion Marching Competition and took a third place trophy home. Saturday, October 10, they participated at Cleveland’s Red and Gold individual and received first place.

“I am so super proud of these kids,” says band director, Jennifer Prince. Nowata was the smallest band, yet they received a plaque, showing off how hard these musicians have worked.

At the end of the competition one of the judges approached Prince.“Pound for pound, your band which was half the size of most bands here today and sounded just as big and did an amazing job. I was very impressed,” said the judge.

“This was a huge compliment for us,” says drum major, Steven Hunter.
